10 top interior design tips FREE
- “Warm Colours advance, cold colours recede”
- so if you colour the walls a warm shade such as red
or orange the walls will appear closer,
and the room smaller. The opposite happens with cool colours such as
blue or green.
- Don’t use more than 2 or 3 colours in a room.
2 colours work best., and in a monotone scheme add more textures in
place of colour, or add an accent of 1 colour in accessories which can
be changed.
- Breaking up any space makes it appear smaller. So
dado rails, co-ordinating wallpapers, too much pattern and rugs are
not for small rooms.
-
Windows can be made to look bigger
by positioning the pole or rail higher and wider, and having floor
length curtains.
