Courses

Basic Curtain Making (10AM TO 4PM AT our premises)

- to include measuring, calculating fabric quantities, and making lined curtains
You will learn about tracks and poles, how to measure and calculate fabric amounts taking account of pattern repeats and fabric widths. We will discuss different heading styles, fabrics, linings and interlinings.
There will be a hands on practical session which will involve you making a sample curtain to take home with you. Comprehensive Notes will be handed out to support what you have learned, along with a signed certificate on completion of your day's course.

Advanced Curtain Making (10AM TO 4PM AT OUR PREMISES)

- to include interlining and hand pleated headings
For those who have the ability to make a simple curtain, but would like to extend their skills to produce a professionally made curtain with hand pleated headings. You will make an interlined sample curtain with hand made pinch pleat, goblet and cartridge headings, mitred corners and hand sewn linings. We will discuss eyelets, tab loops, and box pleating, allowing plenty of time for any questions you may have. Comprehensive notes will be available along with a course certificate.

Introduction to Design (10AM TO 4PM AT OUR PREMISES)

- to include where to start, colour scheming, light, use of space, ambience and finishing touches We will guide you through planning a room including flooring, lighting, wall coverings, and soft furnishings. How to achieve the atmosphere you are looking for whilst keeping the room functional. We will cover the colour wheel, and the use of colours for different room aspects including colour scheming and the use of tones and textures
